# Name Hider

Use it when you want a different name to appear in your client while you play.

## Set the replacement name

`Replacement name` is the text that Name Hider displays in place of your username. You can also set it with `.cname [name]`.

## Add Minecraft formatting

`.cname` supports [Minecraft formatting codes](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Formatting_codes). Put `&` before a formatting code. For example, `.cname &craven` displays `raven` in red.

**Patcher compatibility**

If you use `Patcher`, disable `Optimized font renderer`. Name Hider may not work while that option is enabled.
